Serving as the cornerstone event bridging academia and the corporate sector, Industry Day 2026 brought together Faculty of Science students and leading industry professionals on June 18, 2026, across the Faculty of Science premises. Hosted by SIRED, the event created a vibrant space centered around innovation, professional networking, and career advancement, offering students a rare front-row seat to the evolving demands of today’s job market. 

Throughout the day, participants engaged in meaningful interactions with corporate partners, gaining firsthand insights into diverse career pathways and industry trends. By connecting ambitious undergraduates directly with potential employers and industry leaders, Industry Day 2026 successfully empowered tomorrow’s science graduates with the networks, confidence, and vision needed to step seamlessly into the professional world. 

The day began with a grand inauguration ceremony, setting the stage for a day full of opportunities and collaboration. Two dedicated interview sessions followed—one in the morning and another in the evening. Conducted both in person and online, these sessions provided students with flexible modes of engagement to connect directly with potential employers. The event concluded with a thought-provoking panel discussion, where academic staff of the Faculty of Science engaged in dynamic dialogue with industry experts to explore emerging challenges and opportunities in the evolving professional landscape. 

The resounding success of Industry Day 2026 at the Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya, was made possible through the remarkable collaboration and support of our esteemed industry partners.
