As the science undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya, the 'Society of Industrial Relations and Entrepreneurship Development' can be introduced as a society that was founded to reduce the distance between the industrial environment & university. It is our vision to open up new paths for undergraduates with the guidance of the Science Industry Interaction Cell (SIIC), faculty of science.
As our aim, graduates from the Faculty of Science at the Peradeniya University will be built up as an entrepreneur creates thousands of employments using his knowledge. It also includes working with the environment to adapt to the needs of the modern job sector. We are also committed to supporting their small projects, research, etc. during their basic period of study.

Message by the Senior Treasurer
"Society of Industrial Relations & Entrepreneurship Development (SIRED) together with the Science-Industry Interaction Cell provide a unique opportunity for the talented and dynamic undergraduates of the Faculty of Science to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes mandatory for the career development from their first year onwards. This is mainly done through a variety of events/workshops organized by the SIRED, providing industrial exposure and opportunities to strengthen the link between the students with local and international industries. Hence, the role played by the SIRED to enhance the career preparedness of our undergraduates, since its inception in 2019, is commendable.
While sincerely appreciating the efforts by all former members who worked hard and actively contributed to establish and continue the activities of SIRED, I am delighted to be a part of the SIRED team and look forward to contributing towards its success. I, as the newly appointed Senior Treasurer, and the Director of SIIC, am ready to provide the necessary guidance and support to achieve the objectives of the society and contribute towards developing competent graduates well adapted to face challenges and demands of the fast growing industrial world to reach greater heights."

SciQuest Challenge ’25 is the flagship scientific entrepreneurship initiative designed to inspire the next generation of science-driven innovators at the University of Peradeniya. Building on the success of previous editions, SciQuest 2025 empowers undergraduates to transform scientific ideas into impactful, real-world ventures.
Organized by the Society for Industry Relations and Entrepreneurship Development (SIRED) in collaboration with the Science–Industry Interaction Cell (SIIC), Faculty of Science Career Guidance Unit (FOS CGU), and BLII–Technology Transfer Office (BLII-TTO), the program provides a structured journey from ideation to execution through mentoring, workshops, and competitive pitching.
The Industry Day of the Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya, is one of the most anticipated annual events that brings together academia and industry to create valuable opportunities for students. Organized by the Science Industry Interaction Cell (SIIC) and the Career Enhancement and Guidance Committee, this event is designed to connect undergraduates with leading organizations, bridging the gap between education and professional careers.
