Welcome to the 'SIRED'

Welcome to the official website of the Society of Industrial Relations & Entrepreneurship Development (SIRED), University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. In 2019, we established this society to introduce the industrial culture to the undergraduates of the university and develop their entrepreneurship skills and attitudes. With a well-known understanding, we collaborate with Science Industry Interaction Cell (SIIC), Faculty of Science, to empower the students' knowledge and experience.

"Society of Industrial Relations & Entrepreneurship Development (SIRED) together with the Science-Industry Interaction Cell provide a unique opportunity for the talented and dynamic undergraduates of the Faculty of Science to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes mandatory for the career development from their first year onwards. This is mainly done through a variety of events/workshops organized by the SIRED, providing industrial exposure and opportunities to strengthen the link between the students with local and international industries. Hence, the role played by the SIRED to enhance the career preparedness of our undergraduates, since its inception in 2019, is commendable.

While sincerely appreciating the efforts by all former members who worked hard and actively contributed to establish and continue the activities of SIRED, I am delighted to be a part of the SIRED team and look forward to contributing towards its success. I, as the newly appointed Senior Treasurer, and the Director of SIIC, am ready to provide the necessary guidance and support to achieve the objectives of the society and contribute towards developing competent graduates well adapted to face challenges and demands of the fast growing industrial world to reach greater heights."
